Yesterday DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw shared an email from a “fact-checker” at Politifact asking if she could provide supporting material to back the governor’s recent comment that “almost 60 percent” of student debt is graduate student debt. Pushaw responded this way:
That reply was in this tweet from Pushaw:

For most normal people, “56 percent” would qualify as “almost 60 percent,” but Pushaw knows what level of hackery she’s dealing with at Politifact and made this prediction about the eventual ruling:
I love this.

Yacob Reyes: “The fact is, almost 60% means 59%. So we rate this claim mostly false.”

Fast-forward a couple days and guess what happened next:
LOL HE REALLY DID IT https://t.co/kmqHeE5iWY

THERE it is:
During a press conference, Gov. Ron DeSantis said that “the student debt that is out there, almost 60% of it is graduate school debt.” We found that is Mostly False:https://t.co/LLMOBSvJpL

Could “fact-checkers” be more predictable? It gets even better:
absolutely hilarious that he turned replies off

There’s a lot of that going around lately.

This is hilarious. Their own company was quoted but Ron DeSantis is wrong. Hahahahaha https://t.co/UgRGiu8KNJ pic.twitter.com/8LIJ016bNH

LOL. You can’t make this stuff up.
“Mostly false” because he claims 56% isn’t “almost 60%” and turns off replies. This @PolitiFact rating is “mostly false”. https://t.co/acaeFm8HID

"… 56% of the outstanding student debt is owed by households that hold graduate degrees."
DeSantis says, "… almost 60% … " and Politifact goes out of their way to beclown themselves because they are clowns … partisan, obnoxious, dim-witted clowns. https://t.co/Q5NOC1HF6x

Politifact’s “priorities” are pretty clear:
PolitiFact Targeting
DeSantis: 34 fact checks (19 Mostly False or worse)
vs.
Gretchen Whitmer: 1 Mostly True
Jay Inslee: 4 fact checks, all Mostly True
Kate Brown: 2 fact checks, 1 True, 1 Mostly False
John Bel Edwards: 1 True, 1 Mostly True
Andy Beshear: None
Ned Lamont: None https://t.co/l9uswiyBC6— Tim Graham (@TimJGraham) May 5, 2022
And Biden and/or Psaki tell several whoppers every day but they seem to focus more on DeSantis & Trump.
