Fort Lauderdale mayor might appreciate the NY Times leaving something out of this report on Wilton Manors Pride parade accident

As we told you yesterday, Ft. Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis referred to what was an accident at the Wilton Manors, Florida Pride parade as a terrorist attack. Trantalis made the comment before the facts were known, and many media outlets quoted the mayor while failing to add the words “without evidence” (that they would have used for a claim from Trump):

Trantalis later clarified his statement, but there was no apology whatsoever:

The New York Times has a report on the accident, and @JerylBier couldn’t help but notice a glaring omission:

Trantalis will certainly appreciate the Times looking the other way for this report.

The mayor’s false claim helped get #DeathSantis trending on social media, but newsworthy shmoozworthy.
