The New York Times has reported that the 2020 campaign of Kamala Harris is in trouble due to various factors:

One of those factors is that Harris could be a Democrat candidate who might have trouble winning over and/or understanding rural voters and others in what they call “flyover country.” The Times’ David Brooks put it this way:

And speaking of being “out of touch”…

Just last month Brooks had a column featuring a hypothetical Trump voter named “Flyover Man” vs. a more progressive-thinking “Urban Man” that had a very “bubble-like” feel to it.
