There were a lot of faces of disgust and disappointment on the Democrats’ side of the aisle during last night’s State of the Union speech, and these polls about how viewers received Trump’s address will probably cause even more.
First up, CNN:
CNN poll on Trump #SOTU: "59% very positive. 17% somewhat positive. 23% negative."

And then CBS News:
CBS NEWS POLL: 76 percent of viewers approved of what they heard in Pres. Trump's #SOTU speech; 72 percent said they approved of Pres. Trump's ideas for immigration. pic.twitter.com/VXJ09v6DKv

Pelosi and Schumer aren’t going to like those!
If anyone was wondering why Nancy Pelosi didn’t want President Trump to give this speech during the shutdown here is your answer…

A CNN poll? Really. That’s funny.

However, some are saying that those approval polls don’t take into account the opinions of those who didn’t listen to the speech, or something.
Easy most of us didn’t watch it. If you did you were already leaning. 60% of us weren’t watching.

Because trumpers watch. I didn’t tune in until @staceyabrams come on

Those could have been the reported numbers, but please consider all the facts before analysis. pic.twitter.com/vqcj9U2jCw

To that point:
Thanks for your feedback. To your point, here's the audience's ideological breakdown per CNN: 43% Republican (97% approve), 24% Democratic (30% approve), 30% Independent (82% approve). The last category is obviously the most telling when taking out the partisan aspect. Thanks.

No matter how you slice it, the numbers won’t thrill congressional Democrats.
