As Twitchy told you last night, the New York Times wrote a piece with a headline about the amount of money was spent on “Nikki Haley’s curtains.” One not-so-minor detail that was buried within the story: The money was spent in 2016, when Obama was still president and Samantha Power was the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. However, that didn’t stop the media from latching onto the Nikki Haley angle. Others are pointing out the terribly misleading headline that even members of Congress, such as Rep. Ted Lieu, have been using to slam Haley:
This seems like a pretty important paragraph that we should get to the bottom of before calling them “Nikki Haley’s $52,000 curtains” https://t.co/2RfJkFqvch pic.twitter.com/AZOJwsofwS

Misleading headline. Few are reading past the first couple grafs. And now most of Twitter thinks @nikkihaley is like Pruitt or Price when she’s not. How irresponsible. Read the whole story. Also the rent is less expensive than previous admins https://t.co/XpeZzi2wg9

Among lefties pushing the bogus narrative is gun control activist David Hogg, who is currently approaching 5,000 retweets for this total lie:
Dear Nikki Haley,
There are starving children in America everyday and you have the audacity to misappropriate thousands of tax dollars for your own lavish lifestyle. Resign immediately
sincerely,
America https://t.co/j9h5t50GPb

Who wants to tell him?
Are you ever right about ANYTHING? Perhaps you need to resign from the public stage, and spend more time reading and learning….
Apartment – Leased in 2016 by Patrick Kennedy, top official at St Dpt during Obama admin.
Curtains – Purchased by Kennedy, in '16, during Obama admin— sarainitaly? (@sarainitaly) September 14, 2018
"Mr. Kennedy defended the purchase, saying that it would probably be used for years and that it was needed for both security and entertaining purposes." https://t.co/wIDdGPdk0p

Decision was made during previous admin. Maybe ask the Obama State Dept. this question. https://t.co/0Bgawza3RB

BREAKING: David Hogg goes snarky, revealing he didn't read the sixth paragraph of the article he seems so upset about.
"A spokesman for Ms. Haley said plans to buy the curtains were made in 2016, during the Obama administration. Ms. Haley had no say in the purchase, he said." https://t.co/wkOVA2HcYG

Those were purchased by Samatha Powers under the Obama administration in 2016.
— EducatédHillbilly™ (@RobProvince) September 14, 2018
Samantha Powers lived in Waldorf Astoria Penthouse around $150,000 a month rent … Haley's $53,000 curtain system was approved by Obama administration …Do a little homework before you post crap
— Dave Rimington (@drimington) September 14, 2018
This decision was made under the Obama administration for her to live there, dummy. This wasn’t even her decision
— JaVonni Brustow ? (@VonniMediaMogul) September 14, 2018
David, the article said the plans were made in 2016 to purchase the curtains in the official residence and Nikki Haley had no say in the matter. She wasn’t even the ambassador to the UN then.
Learn to read in your gap year, kid. https://t.co/Rq2O5EQJkR

Those starving children also don't have the luxury of having their "gap year" bankrolled by activists. pic.twitter.com/v3Wwdcme52

Always read the article before a sanctimonious tweet. You’re embarrassing yourself.
Sincerely,
America— Andy Lancaster (@andylancaster) September 14, 2018
Rest assured that Hogg’s claims about the NRA and guns are at least as accurate as his tweet about the curtains.
