It's Thursday, and millionaire Sen. Bernie Sanders has found another class of billionaire he doesn't like: stadium owners. As our own Gordon K reported, Macklemore was finally dropped from Ed Sheeran's tour. It wasn't Sheeran's decision to drop Macklemore, who gave music lovers (let's rephrase that to "people who would pay to see Ed Sheeran") an impromptu political rally in the middle of its concert, accusing Israel of genocide and calling for a free Palestine. It was the venue owners, in particular New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who said Macklemore wasn't welcome in his stadium.
Sanders, who never met a billionaire he didn't like unless they were donating hundreds of millions to Democrat campaigns, went on a rant about billionaire stadium owners silencing artists.
In the United States of America, billionaire stadium owners should not be able to silence artists because they speak out on political issues.
— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 16, 2026
Today it is the genocide in Gaza. What's next?
If they can silence one artist, they can silence anyone.
What's next? Something real, or another myth like the genocide in Gaza?
The government should own all stadiums.

Nobody is being silenced.
— Roger Baumgarten (@RogerBaumgarten) September 17, 2026
It is their stadia Bernie. Leave other people's property alone. If you want to provide the stadium for these people, provide it yourself. Capitalism allows you to do that. Socialism does not
— Mark Laslett (@marklaslett_NZ) September 17, 2026
They aren't silencing anyone.
— EagleEye (@USEagleEye) September 17, 2026
Any one of those artists can go on their social media accounts and share whatever message they want.
They can go on any news broadcast that'll have them.
So shut up with the lies.
As our own Just Mindy reported, Dearborn Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud rolled out the red carpet for Macklemore and said he could put on a free show sponsored by the city.
I mean, its private property, so yeah they can silence anyone on their property.

If they own the particular stadium, they ought to be able to silence whomever they choose-regardless of how we feel about it. That's part of owning something.
— Ryan Goodson (@NMTelescopes) September 17, 2026
The owners of those stadiums have every right to turn away you Hamas loving scumbags.
— James Roberts (@zoso67011) September 16, 2026
You're all just going to confuse Sanders with the talk about "private property."
Fuck off you islamo-commie piece of shit. No person in America should be complelled to host this kind of hate. pic.twitter.com/SM5ja09zGF
— Joseph Gelman (@JosephGelman) September 17, 2026
Do you have a correct take on literally ANYTHING?
— SmilinJim (@JamesWitmer6) September 16, 2026
It's their venue, their property. They can control who uses it.
— Nunya Bizness (@OriginalToriar) September 17, 2026
Its a privately owned staduim and he can do as he pleases, just like what you do at your lake houses.
— ZTR (@ZTRtbm) September 17, 2026
The market based response to his prejudice will be more damaging.
This is why all property should be privately owned.
Wait. Bernie. No. Wait. Stop. An owner of a stadium should be required to host any act that applies? Regardless of how vile they are? This isn't freedom of speech, this would be compelled speech.
— The Disappeared One (@inarchus) September 16, 2026
It’s not silencing, it’s refusing to platform. The artist is still entitled to speak, perform and engage in activism. Just not at that venue. It’s really not that controversial. The same way that many venues refuse to host conservatives or Trump.
— Sequestered (@VanoSequestered) September 16, 2026
Fuck you, Bernie. A stadium isn’t your soapbox and Kraft doesn’t have to host a Gaza rally.
— Joshua Jake (@itzjoshuajake) September 16, 2026
Should a billionaire have to rent out his stadium for a white supremacist rally? Oh, wait, we're asking the guy who campaigned with the guy with a Nazi tattoo on his chest.
