I thought perhaps Frank Conniff was British, but it turns out he's an American comedy writer with such credits as Sabrina the Teenage Witch and The New Tom Green Show. He's best known as the original Frank on Mystery Science Theater 3000. He has a friendly message for MAGA this Fourth of July weekend.

And thus began the battle of the TV comedy writers. You might remember Brit Graham Linehan, creator of the brilliant The IT Crowd, from the time he was met at the airport in Great Britain by five police officers for three "gender-critical tweets" he'd posted while he was in the United States. The Independent reported that Linehan was taken to a cell and questioned over the X posts. One said: “If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls.”
Linehan had quite a different perspective.
