Boomers and Lesbians Teach What Democracy Looks Like Through Song

Meme

Last weekend, I published a piece about a segment on NPR's podcast about race, Code Switch ("Race. In Your Face."). The hosts had a special guest to talk about "Mar-a-Lago face," which was, in their view, an "aesthetic loyalty test" that you must pass, especially if you're a woman, to be in MAGA. "The MAGA look — you know the one: dramatic eyeliner, long, wavy hair, sheath dresses — is a defining feature of President Trump's Republican Party," they discussed. "And it's about a lot more than appearances. Journalist Inae Oh joins us to talk about what the aesthetics of MAGA tell us about power, influence, race, and femininity."

Yeah, I want my tax dollars paying for that.

I ran across this video earlier today, and I felt compelled to post it in response. It's the perfect display of "progressive-face." Not only are the liberals singing again, but they're embodying every physical stereotype of liberals. Watch as the camera pans around to the Boomers, the butch lesbians, the (probably gay) fat bald guy, and the only one there under 50: a sexually ambiguous dude with pink hair. They've written a song to teach us what democracy is. I had to hear it … now you have to hear it.

That's an awfully white group. Where's the diversity?

Grok says that Still We Sing 26 is an LGBTQ+ pride choir from Southeast Missouri … not surprising.

Democracy looks like your candidate got fewer votes because she sucked.
