Look at Minneapolis Under President Trump

AP Photo/John Minchillo

I'll admit I didn't know much about Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz until yesterday. Now I know he's to the left of Kamala Harris. The first thing people associated Walz with was the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020. As we reported, his wife said that she left the window open so she could smell the city burning down because it was such a "touchstone."

I get to rate Community Notes on X, and I declared a note wasn't needed that this was Minneapolis under President Trump:

Trump offered to send in the National Guard to quell the riots, but it seems Walz decided to let the city burn. As I reported back in May, Walz issued a declaration of George Floyd Remembrance Day

"We honor him"? Seriously? We'll bet the pregnant woman he stuck a gun at remembers him.

And as plenty pointed out, Kamala Harris promoted a fund to bail out people who'd been arrested for rioting. Her tweet is still up. I reported that the Minnesota Freedom Fund was "deeply saddened" that one of the rioters they'd bailed out assaulted a man who ended up with a traumatic brain injury. Another rioter bailed out with Harris' help sexually assaulted an 8-year-old. The fund was such a successful moneyraiser that they had trouble spending it all.

Local news reported that "the MFF has struggled to spend the $35 million it received following Floyd’s death. The group revealed in early September that only about 6% of the $3,475,000 it has spent since Floyd’s death had gone to help bail out of jail people facing protest-related charges."

"Protest-related charges." Celebrities, including Chrissy Teigen, Steve Carell, Patton Oswalt, Don Cheadle, and Seth Rogan donated millions to the fund.

Yes, but Trump was president. He wasn't president in 2023, though:
