Gizmodo: Elon Musk tweets defense of cop who shot Michael Brown in Ferguson; Updated

Here’s some sobering news from Gizmodo after Twitter owner Elon Musk made fun of that stash of #StayWoke T-shirts piled up in a closet. It turns out that Musk tweeted in support of the police officer who shot Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and claimed that “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” was a lie. The forensics report, done under the direction of the Obama administration, determined that Brown did not have his hands up when he was shot but rather was lunging for the cop in an attempt to take his gun.

Here’s a screenshot of the tweet:

As we just mentioned in a recent post, we’re old enough to remember when previous Twitter ownership painted the #Ferguson hashtag at headquarters:

Here’s Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey handing out flowers to demonstrators in Ferguson:

Gizmodo writes that “Dorsey, once wore the [#StayWoke] shirt to the Code Conference in 2016 during a panel discussing the Black Lives Matter movement:

Elon Musk tweeted a defense of the police officer who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown—an unarmed Black man in Ferguson, Missouri back in 2014—early Wednesday before deleting the incendiary post. Musk said the police officer was “exonerated” and that the narrative around the shooting was a “fiction.”

And? Why the scare-quotes around “exonerated”?

All of the liberals supposedly flocking to Mastodon were perfectly happy with Twitter when Jack Dorsey was painting #Ferguson on the wall and marching with protesters and handing out #StayWoke T-shirts. To them, that was a level playing field.
