We’re actually getting a little exhausted by all of the doomsday takes on Elon Musk offering to buy Twitter. Target Toothbrush Guy says it could lead to World War III and the destruction of the planet. Journalism professor Jeff Jarvis says “today on Twitter feels like the last evening in a Berlin nightclub at the twilight of Weimar Germany.” Salon’s Matthew Rozsa wrote a piece on how “it will be a death blow to the free world” if Donald Trump’s account is reinstated.
Katy Tur was on MSNBC today to talk about the story and warned that if Musk just lets people run wild on Twitter, there would be “massive, live and globe-altering consequences.”

Yeah, we can’t have people running wild spreading lies.
Katy, is this you?

Lol, it's laughable that the only alternative people on Left see against Twitter's complete bias for Democrats is a free-for-all.
It's actually possible to still have rules and enforce them equitably.

These people need help.

Do they hear themselves? That's a rhetorical question, of course.

The control aspect is the most insightful…when they say "just letting people run wild on the thing", they mean "we just want to censor anyone who doesn't agree".

As opposed to the not-real and not-devastating consequences of using the news to lie. Clearly there are no massive, life and globe-altering consequences for just letting people run wild on the news — just look at how great the world is today!

I’m very surprised she didn’t play the “it’s going to kill a lot of people” card.

Lies like Maddow falsely claiming that getting the vaccine stops you from getting the virus? Lies like that?

Like suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story the month before the election? We imagine that could have had some pretty major consequences if the New York Post were allowed to “just run wild” with the story.
