A few days ago, Washington Post opinion columnist Paul Waldman put out an alert that the “Don’t Say Gay” bill was being “universally referred to” on right-wing sites as the “Anti-Groomer Bill” and that term was on its way into the mainstream. Waldman, of course, didn’t see the irony of himself calling the Parental Rights in Education bill the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which is how the bill is being universally referred to in the mainstream media.
We’ve put out the challenge to opponents of the Parental Rights in Education law to explain why it’s so important to have teacher-led classroom discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten. Remember last year when the Arizona Department of Education issued an “equity” toolkit to help teachers deal with the racism that is inherent in children as young as 3 months old and pervasive in white children up to age 5 and beyond? It’s the same thing here; they apparently believe that homophobia and transphobia are learned as early as kindergarten.
Here’s part of a Zoom presentation on the Future of Sex Education, where we hear from researchers about why it’s so important to reach young children before heteronormative and cisnormative values become ingrained in their minds.
FoSE Thread:
"…the most surprising piece was how much, um, evidence there is for sex education in elementary school. A lot of what goes on, um, in the elementary schools is done with not necessarily the label of sex education class so…that was…really, really gratifying." pic.twitter.com/y3M5S0qWJq— Kelly S. "The other piece that was surprising…in a good way, was how much in general we found sex education going on outside of the health education classroom, even in middle and high school…in literature classes, in math classes, in social studies classes, in P.E. classes and art"

"the great piece about that is you know it enables there to be some flexibilty about where we can put in sex education lessons and it allows some of the strongest teachers who want to take on these topics to be able to do it who may not necessarily be health teachers per se."

The Future of Sex Education wants Comprehensive Sexuality Ed (CSE) taught to all grades, in all states, and across most subjects, through a Social Justice Pedagogy using the lenses of Intersectionality, Language, Equity, etc. pic.twitter.com/zKCgYpVtGe

"early grades may be the best time to introduce topics related to sexual orientation, gender identity & expression, gender equality & social justice related to LGBTQ+ community before heteronormative & cisnormative values & assumptions become more deeply ingrained & less mutable" pic.twitter.com/RixkxZfee9

We suppose that’s why there’s a market for children’s picture books like “Rainbow: A First Book of Pride,” “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish,” and “The GayBCs.”
The presentation discusses teaching CSE through a Lens of Language, "All language is constantly evolving; new terms are introduced, while others fade from use or change their meaning over time," by an image of an X by "he, him, his" & "she, her, hers" & a ✅️ by "xe, xem, xyr" pic.twitter.com/DSSzUjxh6t

The National Sexuality Education Standards Core Content and Skills K-12 is what these groups are involved with.

The speaker's correction mid-sentence speaks volumes, "Sex education is *most important* can be strongest when it starts in elementary school."
and to present CSE:
"…before heteronormative and cisnormative values and assumptions become more deeply ingrained and less mutable."— Kelly S. (@kellyske) April 2, 2022
Children who are being raised by a cisgender father and mother might not be exposed to these other values outside of school.
NO. JUST NO.

The most surprising piece to me is how many adults want to talk to other people’s children about sex.
— Beanie (@Beanie0597) April 2, 2022
I've been told this isn't happening in schools.

Lisa D. Lieberman, Ph.D. Keep an eye out for that name.
Many young children's lives are being ruined because of trans false compassion. Boys and girls have always been uncomfortable with puberty as their bodies don't feel like their own. Aging is uncomfortable too. It does not mean you want to change your sex.

Don’t worry — the White House just issued a statement saying that puberty blockers are reversible, so what’s the harm in trying them?
