Here's the US Embassy in Madrid proudly flying the Black Lives Matter banner

Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of the death of George Floyd, and as Twitchy reported earlier, they seem to be observing the anniversary in George Floyd Square in Minneapolis by firing gunshots.

As Twitchy reported Monday, Human Events had received a copy of a memo sent out by Secretary of State Tony Blinken encouraging U.S. embassies around the world to observe Floyd’s death by name-dropping Black Lives Matter “in messaging content, speeches, and other diplomatic engagements with foreign audiences.”

Jack Posobiec, who wrote the piece for Human Events, noted that the U.S. Embassy in Madrid was flying a huge Black Lives Matter banner from the top of the building.

The embassy’s tweet reads, “Embassy staff show their solidarity after the one-year anniversary of the murder of George Floyd: ‘We show the banner #BlackLivesMatter at the Embassy headquarters to resoundingly reaffirm that racism has no place in our world.’ — Deputy Chief of Mission Conrad Tribble.”

It’s actually encouraging how many Spanish-language tweets agree with the sentiment above. No one in Madrid seems impressed.

How many other embassies have Black Lives Matter banners flying today?
