This post actually continues a thread started yesterday, in which blue-check professor Miranda Yaver went down the old, tired (and racist!) road claiming that white dudes who own guns are compensating for deficiencies in other areas. Does that go for black men too? Cops? Soldiers?

Many people have called AR-15s “weapons of war,” which would surprise anyone actually enlisted in the armed forces, and Yaver went on to claim that it’s not fair to say that AR-15s are in common use by civilians.
She actually teaches D.C. vs Heller in constitutional law class and believes that?

Sure. But he also stated that the 2nd Amendment protection applies to firearms "in common use." You might not think people need this-pattern or that-pattern firearm, but "need" isn't the legal test.
