Here you go, #NeverTrumpers, at least those who haven’t already declared to the world that you’re voting a straight Democratic ticket (Jennifer Rubin looks to be pretty much in the bag for Stacey Abrams, who hasn’t even declared). Here’s a Republican contender to Donald Trump: former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld!

@BillKristol will be both campaign manager and the sole donor to this campaign.

He’d get more votes if he ran in the Dem primary.

But he’s the “original libertarian”

Weld will get trounced.

Really Bill, no one cares.

Former Republican Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld tells @jaketapper he's running for president as a Republican.
Weld, 73, is just a year older than President Trump.

That's horrible, Trump might lose 32 votes now

Dude is going to get nowhere at the RNC convention, if he makes it that far. Take it to the bank.

That clown was on the ticket in 2016 with Gary Johnson. A weak attempt to take some Trump votes.

What party does he belong to this week?
— DeeDee (@b4bama14) April 15, 2019
Plenty of people are glad to see Trump has a challenger, at least? Maybe he’ll split the vote?
God I hope he runs Trump off the stage. Weld could do it. Everyone is so fed up.

“Everyone” is kind of strong.
Bring it on! ANY possible alternative is worth consideration. A-N-Y!

Challenges to an incumbent usually result in the incumbent losing the general election. ?

I love the idea of Trump having spend money to fend off a primary challenger.
Hey @JeffFlake , maybe get in the ring?
— Surreal Estate Agent (@NighswanderArt) April 15, 2019
Yeah, where is Jeff Flake? Oh yeah, he did exactly what we all predicted he would do and headed to TV news.
It’s pretty bad when Jeff Flake has better name recognition that you do … Weld’s got some work cut out for him.
