As Twitchy recently reported, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell reminded a reporter that “I get to decide what we vote on” when asked why McConnell was bringing up the Green New Deal for a vote and not H.R. 1, which Rep. Steve Scalise calls the “Democrat Politician Protection Act.”
It’s no wonder why McConnell’s not interested in bringing this up for a vote, not that it would ever pass the Republican-controlled Senate.

Republicans weren't consulted on H.R. 1, and Democrats once again voted down every single Republican amendment to the bill. It sets up a system of fraud, abuse, and misuse of taxpayer funds. Bottom line: H.R. 1 leaves the future and integrity of our elections in doubt.

I would support having a standardized national ID card with a photo and thumbprint, which would require similar documentation as a passport application, but cost no fee. It could be used for travel ID, to apply for jobs and government benefits, AND as voter ID if state requires.

This is an assault on both Federalism (overriding how states conduct elections) and the 1st Amendment, in that campaign donations have been deemed an act of free speech. Compelled "speech" by using my taxes to support a candidate I do not, is not "free speech."

It’s a second front on the assault on Federalism, with the first being states like Colorado deciding to award the state’s electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote, regardless of who won the state.

Yeah, it sounds like this would head straight to the Supreme Court, where the Democrats can no longer count on SCOTUS enacting legislation they couldn’t get through Congress.
