When former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz announced he was considering running as an Independent in 2020, Democrats freaked out, fearing that an Independent candidate would siphon off precious votes from whichever leftist extremist the Democratic Party had decided to nominate.
We’re still not sure if Schultz is going to run, be he’s already incurred the ire of Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who wondered why a billionaire like Schultz, who grew up in the projects, didn’t have to “work his way up” before considering a presidential run. You know, like she went straight from bartender to congresswoman.
Not only is the left upset that a billionaire like Schultz might run; they’re dragging him for pointing out some ugly truths about socialism and thus wondering why he doesn’t run as a Republican.
Shouting down political opponents, inflexible dogma, and the making of lists of the politically impure, unfavored classes, and offending businesses, has always been integral to socialism. History is utterly clear on this point. The list is always acted on.
