As Twitchy reported Wednesday night, Bloomberg’s Jen Epstein shared yet another accusation against SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh, this one about an alleged rape on a boat in 1985.
What Epstein didn’t point out was that the man making the accusation appears to be a complete loon who’s accused President Trump of murder and begged the Pentagon to stop the parasite in the White House before the Russians parachuted into the country like in “Red Dawn.”
Kavanaugh's latest accuser, who claims Kavanaugh raped someone on a boat in 1985, repeatedly called for a military coup against Trump and said the president was guilty of "manslaughter." https://t.co/rsdIm7SqrM

It turns out not even NBC News would touch this one.
We discussed this with many sources today and the was broad agreement from those in both parties that this accusation was close to impossible to pursue because there were so many questions about its origins. https://t.co/NJhCNVtRkD

OK, hold up a minute. NBC News didn’t pursue it because the accusation “was close to impossible to pursue because there were so many questions about its origins” — and yet, as Twitchy also reported, NBC News on Wednesday night ran with the story that Kavanaugh allegedly physically assaulted a woman in 1998 while he was drunk?
And what were the origins of that accusation? As NBC reports:
Recommended
When asked about the allegation, contained in an anonymous letter sent to a GOP senator, Kavanaugh responded, “we’re dealing with an anonymous letter about an anonymous person and an anonymous friend. It’s ridiculous. Total twilight zone. And no, I’ve never done anything like that.”
“We have no reason to assign the letter credibility,” Taylor Foy, a spokesperson for Judiciary chairman Charles Grassley said. “And even if we did, we’d have no way to investigate the allegation as it was made anonymously and cannot be corroborated. The committee regularly receives anonymous letters, some of which are viewed with credibility, but many of which are not. To make sure no stone was left unturned, the committee asked Judge Kavanaugh yesterday about this anonymous letter. Judge Kavanaugh flatly denied any such event ever happened.”
…
“There were at least four witnesses including my daughter.” The writer of the letter provided no names but said the alleged victim was still traumatized and had decided to remain anonymous herself.
So pass on crazy boat guy, run with anonymous mother who wrote an anonymous letter about an alleged victim who wished to remain anonymous.
So exactly why did you report on the one you did report on, then? What information do you have about its origins?

NBC News actually ran with the anonymous letter on their broadcast. https://t.co/8d11CIrEcp

Unbelievable. This letter could have literally come from anyone. How can you possibly complain about anyone calling the press the enemy after watching this display?https://t.co/FohrvOEh8a

But you ran with the other accusation? https://t.co/3H1NeqGHOj

"Look, we don't just publish anything here at NBC News. We have standards." The best part is admitting they actually had to debate whether to run with the second story.
— BT (@back_ttys) September 27, 2018
How that debate should have gone.
"Hey guys, do you think we should run with this?"
"Are you f'ing high?"
— BT (@back_ttys) September 27, 2018
So then, the obvious answer is, of course, publish the baseless unprovable claim. ??? https://t.co/4u4LyPQJ1x

Wait, but the other allegations were perfectly ok to run with and dissect 24/7?? https://t.co/8n0SqrvkeM

NBC reporter.
Look, the sane silent majority of normal Americans arrived at this conclusion about Kav the moment the Ford story broke.
But it is good to see some in the media finally being honest about something. Baby steps, I know. https://t.co/KB2l2Yz6zO

Yeah, it’s been a banner day for the media:
Kavanaugh nomination: Third woman comes forward with sexual misconduct allegation https://t.co/Wvvxd4B8D9
— Washington Post (@washingtonpost) September 26, 2018
“She does not say Kavanaugh participated in the alleged rape or what, if any, role he played, nor does she say where the alleged episode took place.” https://t.co/McdkxGGiin
