Twitchy readers are aware of all that Parkland survivor Kyle Kashuv has been through ever since he posted photos and videos of his trip to a gun range with his father and a shooting instructor; the words “illegal detainment” were used, and not lightly.
Now, Ken Bone — yes, the guy in the red sweater who was universally declared the winner of the second, town-hall-style presidential debate — says that his son was suspended from school pending a police investigation after he posted a photo of their trip to the range.
Remember this photo from a few days ago? Well, a school administrator saw it and now my son is suspended from school pending a police investigation. pic.twitter.com/tTXSBDo39g

If this is the whole story, my goodness…how asinine. https://t.co/GfthxrxwxS

We don’t have any proof, but we’re inclined to believe it based on what we’ve seen recently.
Students walk out of school to push gun control: no problem!
Students go to range with dads during non-school hours to learn gun safety: suspension. https://t.co/j06eUoWv5x

We need a court case that firmly establishes school districts have zero authority over anything that happens outside of school. https://t.co/G8HPdO3mEd

Wow, these people will never stop. What happens off campus is nothing of the school administration's business. https://t.co/MnAySmGj9G

That’s totally awful!!! The school CANNOT suspend someone for what they do outside of school property. Also, the police have NO reason to investigate, because what Ken’s son is doing is 100% legal. I’m on your side @kenbone18 Everyone tweet out #SaveBoneFamily https://t.co/25WoBrJHYR

Pending WHAT? The police are going to investigate something that is not against the law in any way? This has to stop! https://t.co/CzeaQJvh8d

This is getting out of hand. No threat of any kind, just law abiding citizens exercising their #2ndAmendment rights. Craziness https://t.co/2Aq4LYUkVm

This is insanity. Somebody needs to be sued. There is nothing illegal or anything that should be in question https://t.co/EqIzbFH3xT

If a man wants to shoot guns at a range after school, let him! If he has no mental issues and is supervised, where is the harm? Hope Bone's son gets out of this as unharmed as possible. https://t.co/OSQzpau8qC

Legal gun, check. Legal overseer, check. Legal range, check. Proper training, check.
Now he's suspended from school. https://t.co/VmQcFdUiwj— Victoria Taft (@VictoriaTaft) April 26, 2018

School/law enforcement see pictures like this and react with an abundance of caution.
School/law enforcement notified repeatedly of a disturbed individual violently threatening his school:
