It was less than a month ago when Newsweek’s headquarters was paid a visit by police, and now CNN’s Hadas Gold is saying that top editors at the magazine have been sent packing.
Sources tell me staff at Newsweek have been told top editors are out and staff have been told they can go home for the day. Staff are worried and don’t know what’s going on https://t.co/sSNWx976FY

Newsweek fires its EIC, managing editor, and several top reporters who were investigating/reporting on the company's woes. Employees are being sent home for the day.https://t.co/drcgBEroLs

Newsweek in complete chaos, alcohol is out, remaining staff considered walkout, second insider tells mehttps://t.co/Cf7TMo7tik pic.twitter.com/NcirswTvLM

We’re a little torn here — obviously, we feel for staffers who have no idea if they still have jobs, but then again, Newsweek has taken such a hard-left turn lately that the name “Newsweek” didn’t even fit anymore. Being sold for a dollar certainly didn’t inspire the editors to shape up and present a more balanced viewpoint.
Oh well.

The former Newsweek editors turned the magazine into left wing garbage making Salon look centrist. Good riddance. https://t.co/pCgK7QFSTN

They really did. Even a Newsweek insider said last month that the magazine “has descended into a content farm for last-resort clickbait.”
hate to see almost anyone out of job, but newsweek has been trash for years https://t.co/dYIxGoOlp0

Celeste Katz has already updated her Twitter bio:
My warmest thanks to the brave Newsweek editors and colleagues who supported and shared in my work — especially our recent, difficult stories about the magazine itself — before my dismissal today. I’ll sleep well tonight… and I’m looking for a job! ✌️ https://t.co/FL8UwztImI
