Sandra Fluke urges boycott, 'regulatory fix' for businesses cutting hours in face of Obamacare

She can’t draw a crowd large enough to fill a parking space or two, but “activist” Sandra Fluke isn’t letting that stop her from expanding her efforts beyond getting you to pay for her birth control. She’s devoting her 15th minute of fame to support the boycott of businesses which have suggested they’ll cut workers’ hours rather than be crushed under the weight of the Obamacare mandate.

Not that a boycott is enough; not surprisingly, Fluke suggests that a “regulatory fix” is needed so that the government can further strong-arm businesses into complying with the regulatory fix that is Obamacare. So, what’s in this petition that has drawn the support of Time magazine’s esteemed Person of the Year nominee?

We will not patronize your businesses if you go ahead with cutting your employees’ hours because of Obamacare. By doing this, you are showing America you don’t care about the health and welfare of your hard-working and loyal employees who help make your companies successful and making you billions. Keep this in mind: If your employees don’t have health care in order to get well when they do get sick, those same employees come to work sick and can pass their illnesses onto us as they prepare or serve our food. They often don’t have paid sick days and can’t afford to miss a day of work to get better.

To be honest, we were wary of Obamacare, but now that we understand the economics behind it, it makes sense. Businesses like Red Lobster make billions, so why not pay a few bucks more to keep employees from sneezing on the food? Everybody wins.

For its part, Applebee’s has demonstrated the backbone of a steaming dish of its Southwest shrimp fettuccini, politely reminding Fluke that the boycott arose from one franchise owner telling Fox Business Network that a hiring freeze might be in the works at his restaurants.

Newly minted attorney Fluke is on the case and correcting the record.

Yes, thanks Sandra, for promoting a nationwide boycott of our restaurant chain over a blatant mischaracterization. “We appreciate that you took the time to share your concerns and allow us to share?” We weren’t on board with any of these Obamacare restaurant boycotts (we prefer “buycotting” job creators), but after witnessing that kowtowing to Fluke, we’ve lost our appetite.
