Serial fabulist Aaron Rupar writes at Substack now, but he used to be employed by Vox, and their whole thing was posting “explainers.” The thinkers at Vox went beyond the news stories and put them into a context that people could understand. Rupar seems to have shaken off the “explainer” yolk and is now presenting us with premium content like, “Republicans will do lots of bad things if they win power.”
Republicans will do lots of bad things if they win power, such as trying to cut Social Security and Medicare, and thus it's vitally important to vote. But a Democratic loss does not mean the fight is over, that there's no way to advance progressive causes. https://t.co/7YS5GNQNfZ

Why don't things like this get labeled misinformation? Seriously.

Lie
— Peter McFarland (@Peter_McF) November 7, 2022
No Republican wants to cut Social Security or Medicare. That’s just a fearmongering lie (after Democrats cut Medicare for Obamacare!). GOP ideas in the past have aimed at ensuring the solvency of both programs thru reforms like raising the retirement age or adding voucher options https://t.co/RzfOeF1IFt

I heard Democrats saying that 40 years ago and every two years since… Is that all you’ve got? 🙄
— The Angry Labrador (@WileyT20) November 7, 2022
More lies from this 🤡
— CAPTAIN MEGA MAGA 🇺🇸 (@eeeeediddy) November 7, 2022
More lies. I guess all you can do is lie and cheerlead.
— Dana J (@dana23ut) November 7, 2022
Oh for god sake, shut up. Republicans have never cut social security and have no plans to do so. Not a single Republican has pushed a bill to end social security
“Democrats” have said it is outdated and needs to end
— kitty Gianelli (@KittyLGianelli) November 7, 2022
No one is cutting medicare. Stop with the nonsense and get a life.

Why do you refer to yourself as a 'journalist'? Honest question.
— Big Boomer Daddy (@BigBoomerDaddy1) November 7, 2022
This is some of that false and misleading information you hear so much about. But of course leftist fact checkers ignore leftist lies.
— TheeThouThine (@MorganCMcK) November 7, 2022
The Republicans will “do bad things” is now the final Democrat message heading into the election. Meanwhile, after 2 years of Democrat leadership, 85% of the country think we’re heading in the wrong direction. Do the math. https://t.co/gQekpY0kSV

They are still coming for your Social Security for the 48th election in a row. According to my 84 year old father-in-law.

Yeah sorry we’ve heard that tired threat before and literally none of the promises of demise occurred
None!— Lulu227 (@LisaDFlee) November 7, 2022
Remember when we were all literally going to die when they rolled back Net Neutrality?
You're such a liar. pic.twitter.com/q0OzL5qVPK

Thats a lie
Now pay your $8 to lie again
— Lou Hartel 66 (@Lou66Hartel) November 7, 2022
Rupar’s a great example of a “real” journalist who shouldn’t have to pay $8 a month to remain verified. He’s providing an important service to us all. What was that when he heard that Facebook and Twitter were collaborating with DHS and the FBI?
Oh yeah, “cry more.”
