Washington Post: Sen. John Kennedy running the 'same old red scare' play with Saule Omarova

As Twitchy reported earlier, the fine folks at the Lincoln Project thought it was racist of Sen. John Kennedy to ask President Joe Biden’s nominee for Comptroller of the Currency if he should address her as “professor” or “comrade.” Now the Washington Post is weighing in with its analysis, saying Kennedy is running “the same old red scare” tactics against the nominee.

“… leverages his party’s resuscitated rhetoric about communism to attack a Biden nominee.” Well, she’s a horrible nominee. And no one would be talking about communism if Saule Omarova, according to the Wall Street Journal, didn’t believe “that U.S. banking should be remade in the Gosbank’s image,” 30 years after having graduated from Moscow State University in 1989 on the Lenin Personal Academic Scholarship.

And that’s not all: She’s proposed that there be no more private bank deposit accounts and all of the deposit accounts will be held directly at the fed. And she wants to see the oil, gas, and coal industries go bankrupt.

That’s WaPo’s Dana Milbank, by the way.

The Post certainly felt they had to publish something quickly — looks like Kennedy touched a nerve.
