As you know, Israel struck a building in Gaza today that housed intelligence offices of Hamas (along with the offices of the AP and Al Jazeera, which is all you’ll be hearing about). A lot of people have already been repeating lines used by defenders of the looting and arson that took place in Minneapolis and other cities over the summer, but blue-check Jack Crosbie says his brain melted when he heard a conservative say this:
just saw a conservative on this site say "property destruction is not violence" in response to israel destroying the AP offices in gaza with an airstrike and my brain instantly melted into a smooth glowing orb

That sounds familiar. Maybe it’s because 1619 Project creator Nikole Hannah-Jones said last summer on TV that “destroying property, which can be replaced, is not violence.” That was after Sally Kohn weighed in on the looting and property destruction in Minneapolis, pointing out that “property is insured and can be replaced.” Our brains melted a little bit when we heard both those statements, so we know the feeling.
I’m sensing the sarcasm in these comments is strong.

Is it violence when Antifa/BLM do it?

Gee think we heard that during all the riots last year. Huh, the definition changes when it all suits you apparently

"I'm upset conservatives are using liberal arguments."
Oh man, I guess your logic was so good you just convinced us all. Congrats!

The building has insurance, not sure why you care.

Your brain was already smooth because you don't recognize them quoting people defending last summer's riots.

Couldn't possibly be sarcasm based on the comments made in response to the riots last summer, could it?
Ah, forget it, your brain is a smooth glowing orb.— CharredBoard (@BoardCharred) May 15, 2021

Because that's all we heard last summer- it's just a building, that's what insurance is for, it's just an idea.
Now, suddenly, it's different.

Of course, the AP had renter’s insurance. And we were assured all last year that property destruction isn’t violence. So why the brain melt?
