There are maybe two reporters we trust to report on guns: Emily Miller and Stephen Gutowski, and here’s where Gutowski stands this evening:
I could literally sit here all day and correct inaccurate media reports about 3D printed guns. All day.
— Stephen Gutowski (@StephenGutowski) July 31, 2018
We’re hoping Gutowski is available all night tonight and all day tomorrow as well, because CNN was talking 3D-printed guns Tuesday evening, and the expert guest was Parkland anti-gun activist David Hogg — the one Brian Stelter admitted he allowed to play with the facts: “There were a few times I wanted to jump in and say, ‘Let’s correct that fact.’ And at one of the times I did and other times I did not,” Stelter admitted.
But Tuesday evening’s sit-down was with fellow gun expert Anderson Cooper on Cooper’s Facebook Watch show, “Full Circle”:

So, you're gonna have an uninformed, emotional kid come on and spew nonsense unchallenged! #GotIt #SOPForCNN

That should help.

Glad CNN is treating this issue very seriously and having an informed and resposible voice on to discuss it. https://t.co/gBpQZYSDxX

How about inviting a gun expert to talk about this issue and not a pubescent activist? https://t.co/dM6Oh07ub4

Hey, my son is a HS junior. How about having him on to share his opinions with the country?
— Carl Gustav (@CaptYonah) July 31, 2018
And what is David Hogg’s expertise or background on 3D printed guns? Or is CNN going for the “we don’t need facts we need a narrative” route?
— twheeeeezy17 (@stanley_sitwell) July 31, 2018
Ask him if the read the full Wikipedia page or just the summary. https://t.co/Tm4cXsUgq9

Why does this kid even need to attend a college. He's now an expert on 3D printed guns. He's a freakin genius. https://t.co/Vta8k5s0oD

Cooper: 'So David, do you think people printing their own guns is good or bad?'
David: 'Bad.'

You’ve got to be kidding me…??♀️ This interview will spread more misinformation, and fuel more unnecessary fear, it seems this is what CNN wants. David Hogg isn’t an expert, in fact he’s shown he’s very ignorant on #2A ,weapons, & ammo since spring 2018. #copolitics #NRA https://t.co/YT5qPDNTfE
— Tracy Nickels-Bishop (@JusticeBlaze) July 31, 2018
Here is the problem: @andersoncooper invites someone on the show who likely has no idea how guns are made; how 3D guns are regulated; and the business around this…
…and then expects to be respected as a journalist? Why, exactly, should we do that? https://t.co/wYxq7WYGMI
— Pradheep J. Shanker, M.D., M.S. (@Neoavatara) July 31, 2018
@CNN this is exactly why you dont get respect. You moan and bitch about a lack of respect for journalism but then you bring in this proven liar and propagandist. Instead of an actual expert on gun laws. You deserve the fake news moniker with stunts like this
