While it seems like everyone in America is reading Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury,” an article in Vox is getting some attention as well.
As Twitchy reported, a Yale psychiatry professor and editor of the book “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump” in December briefed some Democrats in Congress on the president’s mental state despite having not evaluated him in person.
That psychiatrist, Bandy X. Lee, was interviewed by Vox, and her answers, published Saturday, tell quite a bit about the person calling Trump dangerous and mentally unfit to serve.
For example, Lee, “who has devoted her 20-year career to studying, predicting, and preventing violence,” blames Trump for an increase in gun violence and claims his decision to locate America’s embassy in Jerusalem is “poking a beehive” in the Middle East. But it’s nothing partisan, OK?
Byron York highlighted a passage in which Lee says physically restraining the president and evaluating him “will really look like a coup, and while we are trying to prevent violence, we don’t wish to incite it through, say, an insurrection.”
Yale psychiatrist who briefed Hill Dems wants to physically restrain President Trump, force him to submit to evaluation, declare him unfit for office. But she worries: 'This really will look like a coup.' You think? From Vox: https://t.co/DfYTOCBNEl pic.twitter.com/t0453a3cY0

They’re just trying to prevent violence — literally anything from school bullying to nuclear war — by removing Trump from office, that’s all.
Oh my god these people are insane. The Democratic Representatives who met with this lunatic should be absolutely ashamed. This kind of talk is unhinged and probably a good sign this doctor is the one in need of a mental health evaluation. https://t.co/X8jXcjM2uf

They don't want it to look like a coup? You mean like what they are really trying to do? smh https://t.co/tk5e6Ekysy

Gosh, might look like a coup and talk like one, too. and be ever so Russian in trumping up mental illness as a way to dispose of political rivals. https://t.co/KyUK0imWY4

I recall the Communists were always very keen to declare their critics mental cases and jab them in the neck with sedatives at townhall meetings. https://t.co/GEj4YH7Yfw

Right? But yeah, Trump is the one who looks like a "tyrant." https://t.co/VSA75L8lAH

Liberals dangerously drunk on delusions of moral authority.
Everyone should be concerned here. https://t.co/ztne8XQOsm

What's crazier? Trump tweeting about a button, or Democrats actually taking this stuff seriously? https://t.co/dm1V7C94jC

This is the epitome of why, after master's degree training, I rejected becoming a shrink and went into research and policy. I refuse to be "licensed" or "certified" and so branded a part of this "professional" community. https://t.co/Tqv7KC2TiV

The left can fairly point out that there are a lot of things Trump says that conservatives would have flipped out about under Obama, but stuff like this is deeply irresponsible — and pretty hypocritical coming from the crowd that tried to blame the tea party for inciting violence https://t.co/T1xzJ8UgWM

CNN promoting and parroting her has been so embarrassing. Fox can show this quote and CNN's behavior this week and CNN will lose more credibility from Trumpers and even Trump skeptics each and every timehttps://t.co/lFUGPoGCzC

As Byron York points out, the current media narrative is "Trump is mentally unstable!"
The media is running through every attack they can think of, spaghetti-to-the-wall tactics — see if anything sticks.
This too shall fail. https://t.co/4sHVCsOKeR

So, about that senator’s meeting with a psychiatry professor about Trump’s mental fitness…
