This South Carolina Mayor hate-crime accusation develops an allergic reaction to the facts

Those on the left seem to wish – to deeply desire – that our country be one that is mired in racial divisions, without any hope of recovery. It almost seems that they need there to be racists in order to justify their intolerance, instead of being happy that there are NOT hateful ogres around every corner.

In Lamar, South Carolina the mayor reported what she felt was a targeted hate crime. Mayor Darnell Byrd McPherson went to authorities to report that cars belonging to herself, and her husband, had been sprayed down with a yellow substance.

Newsweek breathlessly reported the event:

She said her husband and the neighbor “started scraping all over” their cars to rid what she described as a “grainy substance” akin to industrial spray foam used to patch concrete. “It looked like little pebbles,” she added. Setting in was the deafening fear of an attack.

The fear was “defeaning”, quoth Newsweek, with just the proper amount of hyperbole.

And if you are starting to get a Jussie Smollett vibe from all of this, you are a proper thinking individual. Behold her next comments.

I likened it as a hate crime because No. 1, there’s a history in our town of Lamar,” the volunteer mayor of the town with approximately 980 constituents, said. In the 1970s, racist acts were not uncommon in Lamar, where the mayor said burning crosses was once a pastime.

Soooo, the racism there in Lamar is so rampant you have to cite examples of it that are almost half of a century old?

The memories of the past were front and center for Mayor McPherson upon seeing her car defaced. “It ignited some fear in my spirit,” she said.

As a result of her reports the authorities began to dig into the grievous act, seeking out the possible motivation for such a hate-filled — and dare we suggest — deplorable act.

Once the mayor was intent that she had been attacked, the local agency referred the matter to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division or SLED. “Due the suspicion from her of it being a hate crime, we couldn’t say no,” he said. The report added that the mayor also had “a possible suspect in mind at the time” of the incident.

Recall how Jussie Smollet was at one point willing to allow innocent people to become charged over his hoax? McPherson was almost as adamant. Well, after a lengthy investigation of moments, it turns out that this was not in fact a hate-crime, and that Andy Ngo from Quillette has another entry in his ever-growing list of race-based hoaxes.

Yes, pollen. It turns out the mayor, who has a firm memory of past crimes from two generations ago, apparently has never since that time encountered white pine pollen, which coats the area at this time every year.

Better still, once informed of the reality Mayor McPherson is sticking by her claim of targeted threats. “I say, we need to come together,” she said. “There should be something else…. But there’s always these remnants of racism.

Remnants…of racism. From hate-filled pine trees.

You know something, that makes just enough sense to be accurate!

Mayor McPherson, who has described herself as a “unifier, remains unbowed in her mission to resist any oppressive acts of nature. “I don’t care about a car,” she said. “What I want is my life.”

Good luck in Lamar mayor, in what appears to be a hive of villainy.
