Well, we couldn't be more surprised if we woke up tomorrow with our heads sewn to the carpet. Of all the people, John Fetterman has met with the survivors of the October 7 attack on Israel and the families of the hostages being held, hopefully alive, in Gaza. This writer has no problem commending even those he profoundly disagrees with when they do something worthy of praise.
I was profoundly moved to meet with survivors of the October 7th massacre and families of Hamas’ hostages. ⁰⁰Together, we began to post photos of the hostages outside my office to stress the urgent need to bring them all home.

My office is posting every last one. pic.twitter.com/Ymxw7wa8Mr
With that, we will say, 'Great job, Senator Fetterman!' If more people would consider condemning acts of unadulterated evil and standing with actual victims, this world might just be a better place. Alas, that doesn't seem to be the case, as we've seen in the past couple of weeks.
On X, the praise for the senator seemed to be coming from all over.
From New York City Councilors:
Thank you Senator

To bloggers of quite some repute:
This took true political courage, and the fact that it took true political courage is truly depressing https://t.co/zUV92poRy6

When Senator Fetterman sounds more supportive than some on the Right, we’ve lost our way https://t.co/0f2yf2AKpb

Way to go, man.

Seriously, must have taken quite a bit of courage considering what your general caucus in the house is like. https://t.co/9zbOh0LcLS

There was quite a bit of shock which, to be honest, we understand.

What times we live in when support for hostages is a brave and bold position in today’s democrat party. https://t.co/gAabxUpICp

I didn't have John Fetterman being the voice of reason on my bingo card, but here we are. Pretty awesome. https://t.co/bBgRGmIV8J

This writer would gladly stand in line to shake your hand for this stance alone, Senator. (Of course, it's about the only stance you have publicly taken that we agree with, but that's of little consequence when it matters)
The posts from The Left were something to behold. They seemed to range from mild disappointment to outright rage at the audacity of standing up for the victims of crime.
Maybe you could care for the hundreds of women and children being blown to bits by israel? https://t.co/4WJdBVqQ75

You can care about both, you know.
There's a reason why I don't donate money to any politician, no matter how cool they seem. They always disappoint https://t.co/p0i4Jn1ZU1

And where will we post the photos of almost 6000 dead in Gaza? Or they aren’t humans for you? We cheered for you and you treated Palestinians like animals… https://t.co/M3Br5oRwUQ

To this writer's knowledge, he hasn't opposed anything other than Hamas in this fight.
What a virtue signaling moron. 🤡 https://t.co/22NHOWjvVB

And the reason you haven’t done this for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women is because?
— Terrence Daniels (Captain 🍀 Planet) (@Terrence_STR) October 26, 2023
Probably because the cases aren't as high profile. To be honest, we'd support hanging posters of all missing and murdered people in every politician's office so they'd be able to see that their policies always have unintended consequences.
One major theme ran through the entire gamut of replies and quotes, though, that of his compatriots on the Squad.
Make sure some of your dem colleagues don’t tear down the posters. Seems to be a thing for anti semetic peeps

Please set up cameras. Show us who tries to tear them down.

He’s securing his re-election right here. Smart move—until Rashida Tlaib tears them down. https://t.co/FWLhbh0t5I

We're glad to see Senator Fetterman standing strong on the issue of Israel. We wish him the best of luck as he battles the perception of those on his side of the aisle, and of course, we are hoping and praying for the safe return of all of the hostages held by the terrorists in Gaza.
