Based on their name alone, you could be forgiven for thinking that Human Rights Campaign is motivated by a passion for human rights. “Human Rights Campaign.” It’s very noble. And who could be against human rights? Only some kind of monster.
Well, then, call me some kind of monster. Because when I hear “Human Rights Campaign,” my first instinct is to roll my eyes. I honestly don’t know if they ever genuinely cared about human rights, but they definitely don’t know. These days, much like the ACLU, their priorities are wokeness and shaming anyone who doesn’t buy into it. They are particularly obsessed with trans rights, or, rather, the “right” of trans people to have “rights” that straight and LGB people don’t get to have.
I’m talking about stuff like the “right” to get free rides with Lyft:
HRC Foundation is partnering with @Lyft to give free rides for trans and non-binary communities across the country. Rides will cover job opportunities, medical appointments and more. https://t.co/dIhBHNG8KO

More from the Human Rights Campaign:
Recommended
Transportation should never be a barrier in receiving life-saving care or access to life-changing opportunities, which is why HRC has partnered with Lyft to provide free rides. In partnership with Lyft and trans-focused community-based organizations, HRC is offering free Lyft rides in select cities for medical appointments, job interviews, and more. Through this program, we work to tackle the systemic racial barriers to care and prioritize trans communities of color.
Ah, so they’re putting the “trans” in “transportation,” then.

Yeah, sorry, if you’re prioritizing one set of people over other sets of people — and apparently discriminating against white people — that’s creating systemic barriers, not breaking them down. Is being racist and telling non-trans, non-nonbinary people that they’re not as equal as trans, nonbinary people of color advancing human rights? I feel like the answer is no.
So I, a handicapped man, and on a limited income have to pay 50+ dollars to get where I need to go, and those identifying as trans don't?#FUCKLYFT https://t.co/7w1mHwbLt3

That's not equality. You want to give them free rides, fine. Just don't claim it's equality when you're favoring one group over all others.
Honest question….would you do the same for our wounded vets?— ~Marie~ (@pjam57) May 12, 2023
Would the Human Rights Campaign do that for wounded vets? Nope. Wouldn’t even occur to them.
I would like a lawyer. And can we please sue to discrimination?
— Nikki mac🐊🐊🇺🇸 (@Nikkimac187) May 12, 2023
This seems discriminatory. I hope someone sues you.
— GayPatriot (@GayPatriot) May 12, 2023
Maybe GayPatriot should sue them. He’d have a case. And I feel like even me, a straight cis-white lady, might be able to catch them discriminating against me. If I suddenly decide to identify as an Asian polyamorous trans lesbian bisexual gay man so I can get free Lyft rides, who is the Human Rights Campaign to deny my truth?
So everyone rides for free. I dare you to question my sexuality of the moment.
— Lance Manly (@mcribluv) May 12, 2023
They can’t! Otherwise they’d be racist transphobes!
I’m trans. I need a ride to pick up my truck from the dealership. Is it that easy?

A sharp rise in people claiming to be non binary to save money on travelling

Yelling at the Lyft driver that my neo-vagina tore, and I need to get to my gender reassignment surgeon's office immediately, which happens to be at the airport https://t.co/3kOM4U2Xi7

I’m finally coming out as non-binary today and my pronouns are free/ride https://t.co/5ajZ4Lun5J

You know, actually, the more I think about this whole thing, the better it sounds. And in Joe Biden’s economy, I need to cut all the financial corners I can. It’s my human right, you see.
