If you’re unfamiliar with Dean Blundell’s oeuvre, you’re not missing much. But the Canadian radio personality recently tweeted a story that deserves to be put in the spotlight, and we’d like to be the ones to cast that spotlight upon it.
So here it is, for your reading pleasure:

Thank you, Dean, for sharing this with us. Everyone should be done with you.
It’s always good to flag yourself as a giant douchebag for those of us who may not have known you existed. A giant douchebag who makes crap up.
File this under things that didn't happen https://t.co/qlVQwJPAY1

This didn't happen. Dean doesn't have friends. https://t.co/QX8kchDX4i

Why would you make up a story that makes you look like an asshole is my main question
— Jon 🔬 (@JonnyMicro) January 10, 2022
We, too, are curious about that. Because it seems like a strange thing to do.
I called a liberal friend to ask if she thought this was a true story. She said "listen, as a mountain climbing world champion, astronaut, and mother of 7 kids and 2 ETs, I will tell you what my guru told me on the spirit plane: 'I have doubts.'" https://t.co/iIyaE0LVVe

See what Caleb did there, Dean?
Don’t make up stories like this. It helps no one. https://t.co/5CHTKGyawb

Least of all Dean Blundell.
2 options:
Either this didn't happen (almost certain), or you used your friend's moment of grief to immediately dunk on him and then brag on Twitter about it.
Neither option looks good for you.

This guy made up a fantasy story in which he is a complete asshole to one of his friends. Congrats? https://t.co/j9B11l3cP0

I don't know what's worse – that he made up a story, or that in his own made up story his response to a friend's kids being in the hospital is "nice work, you selfish douchebag" instead of, you know, human sympathy and concern. https://t.co/HCKGpGqzgn

How did you manage to write yourself in as the villain of this story? https://t.co/H3CSF7MZdr

The point of inventing a story where you’re the main character is to make yourself a heroic figure, not a villainous one. pic.twitter.com/FNtHq03LbQ

“anyway, I was out walking with my girlfriends Gigi Hadid and Gisele Bundchen after I won the World Series and the Super Bowl, and then I threw a puppy off an overpass …”

“And then everyone clapped, including my good friend Albert Einstein”

Totally normal, well-adjusted adult human. pic.twitter.com/1ZtzMkKijr

A real peach.
The ultimate Twitter failure has to be looking like a jerk in your own completely made up story. https://t.co/HjZlovPL1n
