This would definitely fall under “Bad Trump” umbrella:
NEW: Exclusive: Trump admin. officials asked federal law enforcement agencies to examine legal ways of removing exiled Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen from US in attempt to persuade Turkish Pres. Erdogan to ease pressure on Saudi gov't, four sources say. https://t.co/klVl1lfwgU

Generally speaking, we loathe fake news. But in this case, we sincerely hope that’s what this is.
Career officials at the agencies pushed back on the White House requests, US officials and people briefed on the requests say. "Once they realized it was a serious request, the career guys were furious," a senior US official involved in the process says. https://t.co/9kz8rJtsU0

The effort includes directives to the US Justice Dept. and FBI that officials reopen Turkey's case for Gulen's extradition, as well as a request to the Homeland Security Dept. for information about his legal status, the four people say. https://t.co/9kz8rJtsU0

Look, you want to remove him if he violated immigration law or something, be my guest.
Removing him to kowtow to that idiot dictator Erdogan? I think not.

Sorry we have to send you back to be killed by that dictator, but he's mad at us for helping that other dictatorhttps://t.co/3Lg9RXCcUR

There's a lot to read here, but the big one that pops out is that the Trump Administration is more upset over the impact on Saudi Arabia the murder of Jamal Khashoggi has had, rather than the murder itself. Which, it must be pointed out, was committed by Saudi Arabia. https://t.co/1txKazUTXR

This is appalling on so many different levels. The WH intervening to scrounge a pretext for feeding a lawful US resident to a brutal strongman in order to paper over a different despot’s murder of another US resident. https://t.co/sanpS4sTMZ

Even suggesting this method of removing Gulen, for ulterior purposes, is unethical and, frankly, pathetic.
It shows the US doesn't have the spine to stand up to people like Erdogan, and simply tell him to take a long walk off a short pier.

Do better, Trump White House. We implore you.
Forget the Mueller protection bill. We need a Gulen protection bill. https://t.co/CWijThcqd1

Dear God.

The Saudi and Turkish regimes are driven by barbaric thugs and murderers. The @WhiteHouse and @POTUS should make it crystal clear they aren't considering this: https://t.co/vasoFer6Xa
