In a powerful speech at this afternoon’s White House press briefing, Gen. John Kelly called out people who have shamelessly been using the death of Green Beret La David Johnson to score cheap political points. Kelly singled out Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson, saying, ““I was stunned when I came to work yesterday morning and brokenhearted at what I saw a member of Congress doing.”

And, because she’s classy like that, here’s how Rep. Wilson responded:
"John Kelly's trying to keep his job. He will say anything," says @RepWilson in response to Trump's staff chief who ripped her for disclosing details of controversial call with soldier's widow. "There were other people who heard what I heard." https://t.co/DDer2xmO9S

Literally got this quote after a hearing, chaired by Wilson, into nursing home deaths. I handed her my phone with the story and this was her comment before getting into a car

We’d ask what’s wrong with her, but it’s pretty clear.

But…but the media told me it was unacceptable for a politician to verbally attack a Gold Star family member like John Kelly. https://t.co/czmudmLPJh

Democrats evidently believe they’re entitled to a pass. What a vile woman she is.
"John Kelly's trying to keep his job. He will say anything" is an unspeakably ugly thing to say, and @RepWilson should be called out for it.

Update:
JUST IN: Rep. Frederica Wilson pledges not to comment any further on Gold Star widow's phone call with Trump https://t.co/QvciwV3ydY pic.twitter.com/mKAVGwtUQH
— Washington Examiner (@dcexaminer) October 19, 2017
From the Washington Examiner:
“The congresswoman will not be making any further comment on the issue because the focus should be on helping a grieving widow and family heal, not on her or Donald Trump,” Wilson’s spokesperson said in a statement Thursday.
Good call, Congresswoman. Opening your mouth only seems to get you into more trouble.
