'The new JV squad'? Obama reportedly wants to arm 'moderate Syrian rebels'

Looks like we may get to find out:

Breaking: POTUS asking Congress for authority to arm & train moderate Syrian rebels to fight #ISIS – sources tell @DanaBashCNN

— Jim Sciutto (@jimsciutto) September 10, 2014

More from CNN:

The President has already asked Congress for the authority to arm and train moderate Syrian rebels to fight ISIS, administration and congressional sources told CNN. Obama is seeking the authority under Title 10 of U.S. Code, which deals with military powers. His request was sent soon after he met with Congressional leadership Tuesday night.

…

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called on Congress to support the request.

“It is clear to me that we need to train and equip Syrian rebels and other groups in the Middle East that need some help,” Reid said Wednesday. “It is called Title 10 authority. The President has tried to get that from us and we should give it to him. That is one way of helping to build an international coalition. Congress should do that.”

But they’re “moderate”:

Obama wants us to train and arm moderate Syrian rebels. How do we determine who is "moderate?"

So is there like a test they take to decide if they're "moderate"? https://t.co/23zSdMB7Sv

Hows about before we hand over hundreds of millions of dollars in weapons to "moderate" Syrian rebels we define what "moderate" means.

"Guys, guys, these moderate Syrian rebels are nothing like the other moderate Syrian rebels or the moderate Libyan rebels." – Obama

See, there's a difference between bombing terrorists and arming Kurds vs arming "moderate" Syrian "rebels". Not sure I support latter.

Obama does not realize that moderate rebels are only moderate until they are in charge. There are zero moderate religious rebels- ever.

@cnnbrk Who does he think we are? Moderate rebels? Holy shit.

Does anyone in power in Washington have a clue about how to deal with ISIS that doesn't involve another clusterfark? Just asking.
