'NO WORDS'! USA Today opinion piece on fixing illegal immigration should come with "SATIRE" warning

The border crisis has produced no shortage of hot takes. But there’s always room for another one:

Nobody is saying open the borders https://t.co/AMqI25cZuA

— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) July 31, 2018

Well, nobody except this one guy in USA Today:

Opinion: The solution to America’s immigration problems is open borders, under which the United States imposes no immigration restrictions at all. https://t.co/lFRJnvvkGs (via @usatodayopinion)

— USA TODAY (@USATODAY) July 31, 2018

USA Today opinion contributor — and Harvard econ department undergraduate studies director — Jeffrey Miron writes:

Trump, however, has it exactly backwards: The solution to America’s immigration problems is open borders, under which the United States imposes no immigration restrictions at all. If the U.S. adopts this policy, the benefits will far outweigh the costs.

…

America has nothing to fear, and much to gain, from open borders.

It’s all so simple!

The "solution". https://t.co/2bv4e4225r

What’ve we got to lose?

Let’s just do it and be legends https://t.co/aRQ4x6rdCF pic.twitter.com/LTswIZlHy8

Snort.

That may be the dumbest article I have ever read and that’s saying a lot. Why not just legalize everything and then we won’t have any crime?

— John Gann (@wolfpack1620) July 31, 2018

Right?

Borders can’t be open if borders don’t exist. Also, universal Medicare is not socialism

See? Everybody wins!

Read this twice trying to be open minded. My conclusion is, this has to be satire.

— Ron B. (@rcbvt) July 31, 2018

This was supposed to be satire correct? Because it is a pretty stupid suggestion

— Muma (@mmuma77) July 31, 2018

You are kidding….right?

— janet l (@winojanet) July 31, 2018

Are you kidding? No words can describe how ridiculous this is.

— Jeff ❌iller (@millerjj660) July 31, 2018

I had to read the whole article to see if ended with a “Just kidding!” But no, he’s serious ?

Insanity in print.
