As Twitchy told you earlier, Democratic Sen. Cory Booker revealed his private pain when he told DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen that he cried “tears of rage” when Dick Durbin told him about “shithole countries.”
But while it’s fun to point and laugh at Booker’s embarrassing display, it also raises an important question: Why did Booker think it was acceptable for him to berate Nielsen like that?
Watch the video again:
"When Dick Durbin called me, I had tears of rage," Booker says. "And for you not to feel that hurt and that pain and to dismiss the questions of my colleagues … with tens of millions Americans hurting right now because they're worried about what happened in the White House." pic.twitter.com/0MS9t8WWM0

Senator Cory Booker just took the smile off the face of DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen's face.
I stand up and applaud the passion and outrage he is expressing in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Thank you Cory Booker. pic.twitter.com/jypFBJgfHP

The most powerful speech in decades from a Senator with balls, compassion, and smarts. Truth to Power. Rock on, Cory.

We thought Democrats were supposed to be the Party of Women.

I'm going to guess the prevailing narrative isn't "male senator bullies woman in front of crowd?" We getting thinkpieces on the societal failings that led Booker to treat Nielsen this way? No? Anyone? https://t.co/QamejvcpS7

Last year, the media blew up at Burr for nicely asking Kamala Harris to stop badgering a witness during a hearing.
This year, Cory Booker basically screams at Nielsen during a hearing. No outrage defending her.
Wonder what the difference between the two is?

FYI, if ANYONE talked to me this way they’d be very sorry. This is unacceptable behavior from Booker. https://t.co/x5O5H8YtTU

So it's ok for this fucking bully to scream at and berate a female Trump official? How is this not verbal abuse? https://t.co/tDzTRhATyr
