In light of the disturbing — and now officially confirmed — allegations against actor-comedian Louis C.K., Hollywood’s complicity in — and enabling of — rampant sexual predation looks even worse. The question people keep asking over and over is: How could they allow this to get so bad? This 2015 exchange between the Daily Beast’s Marlow Stern and comedian Aziz Ansari really sheds some light on that:

He goes from bragging about how well he has done to raise awareness about sexual harassment to “no comment” on Louis CK practically all in the same breath. Amazing.

“women need to be believed. i have this great routine where they raise their hands if they’ve been followed and all the dudes are like wow and i raise so much awareness.”
“what about these women who’ve accused Louis CK?”

It’s not clear what — if anything — Ansari knew about Louis C.K. back then, but that was a pretty dramatic about-face.
Aw Aziz, come on man…
