Max Miller REALLY Stepped in It When He Released Those DropBox Files to 'Defend Himself'

I’ve covered a lot of political dumpster fires in my years at Twitchy, but watching Ohio Rep. Max Miller try to defend himself against his ex-wife’s abuse claims has been like watching a guy set his own house on fire, then pour gasoline on the flames for good measure.

Over the weekend, Miller dropped a 20-minute video rant denying everything — from the alleged hot-water dousing and gun-to-the-head incident with Emily Moreno (daughter of fellow Ohio Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno) to questions about their toddler’s broken collarbone.

To “prove” his innocence, his team uploaded a Dropbox full of materials.

Brilliant strategy… until Moreno’s lawyers fired back with a letter accusing them of releasing a photo of the couple’s young daughter that “could be considered Child Sexual Abuse Material” because her genitals appear visible.

This is just the latest in a parade of self-owns. Miller’s lawyers had to walk back a sworn claim that his girlfriend witnessed a custody exchange where he supposedly shoved Moreno — turns out she wasn’t even there. He secretly recorded conversations with his ex and released them, only for one to feature him downplaying the water incident as “horseplay” while she described steaming hot water. He sued Moreno for defamation (and previously sued Stephanie Grisham over similar claims), moves that just invited more discovery and bad headlines. Now his own attorney is owning the photo fiasco as “completely my fault.”

Miller insists no charges were filed, child services called some claims unsubstantiated, and he still has joint custody. Fair points in a messy divorce. But when your defense involves accidental near-CSAM distribution, retracted witnesses, and audio that sounds more like partial admissions than exoneration, you’re not clearing your name — you’re handing your critics a gift-wrapped narrative.
