John Harwood is still crushing hard on Barack Obama.

I know, it's sad and a little pathetic, but here we are. Harwood's latest contribution to the discourse on X was to leap to Barack Obama’s defense when people pointed out that journalists didn't crap all over him during interviews, like they do Trump.
Harwood flatly declared that the 44th president is not a pathological liar. Just like that. No caveats, no evidence, no acknowledgment of the record. Just pure, unfiltered narrative protection.

Of course, Harwood was reacting to a viral post contrasting the kid-gloves treatment Obama received with the aggressive grilling President Trump gets every time he sits down with a legacy outlet. And instead of engaging the actual point—that the press corps spent eight years acting as Obama’s praetorian guard—Harwood chose to rewrite history in real time.
Let’s be real.
Americans still remember the promises that evaporated the moment the teleprompter turned off. “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” Millions didn’t. “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.” Premiums skyrocketed. We watched Benghazi get blamed on a YouTube video while the administration knew better. We saw the IRS weaponized against conservatives and the press barely shrugged.
None of that apparently registers with Harwood. In his world, those weren’t lies; they were… something else.
