As Twitchy readers know, the Washington Post laid off a bunch of people this past week. Now, while I know plenty of my friends on the Right have been enjoying these layoffs and reminding them they can learn to code (and I don't blame them for this, because many of these now-former WaPo writers likely deserve it), I have not joined in the celebrations and mockery.
I'm not pretending I'm better than anyone for not doing it, especially since it's my own selfish reasons. While I know they would cheer and write many articles about how I had it coming if the same happened to me, that's why I won't do the same. Does that make sense? Beyond being more than aware of karma, I don't want to be anything like them.
Which could, in the end, hurt me.
See? It's all cyclical.
Not to mention, there are plenty of factual reasons this was bound to happen.
The number of fake stories and hoaxes they either fell for, pushed, or created is off the charts.
Take a look at this:
WAPO: A CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE

No newspaper in the world has invented and spread more hoaxes than the Washington Post. Here’s a selection from the past decade. https://t.co/rKDjaVYFUq pic.twitter.com/n3ESs4KmQg
Yeah, it's bad. From pushing the lie about Elon Musk and the Nazi salute to Covington kids story where they threw literal minors under the bus even though the adult was lying ... they've proven time and time again why they're not really a news outlet.
More of a leftist propaganda pamphlet ...
If WaPo wants to survive, they have to make these changes, whether people like Whoopi Goldberg (who encouraged Americans to cancel WaPo subscriptions) likes it or not.
