Journos should just be JOURNOS.
They aren’t firefighters, or heroes, or the keepers of the First Amendment, they’re just journalists. And maybe if they’d start focusing on what it is they’re supposed to do versus being virtue signalers on steroids they wouldn’t have quite so many issues.
But oh no, now they’ve got a new profession they’re being compared to:
“This is an all-hands in deck moment” for journalism – says NYT Publisher to @brianstelter – says there have been more jobs lost for journalism than coal miners. #CItizenCNN

Really.
Coal miners?
Holy Hell.
they should learn to code
— John Ekdahl (@JohnEkdahl) October 22, 2018
They should learn a trade.
Heh.
Pick up a welder's torch.
Lots of bed pans need changing.
Farmers are hiring.
Factories are hiring.
Uber needs drivers. You have no right to profit in your avocation.

That anyone would compare them to an industry that was all but destroyed by Obama, entire communities almost lost, tells you exactly how out of touch they are with average Americans.
Look, Brian, those jobs are just gone, kay? Not like we can just wave a magic wand.
— Yusef (Whit) (@ToolboxWhit) October 22, 2018
Coal miners produce something useful.
— Flight93_Militia (@SCOAMT) October 22, 2018
This went well.
Coal miners lost jobs because the previous president set out to bankrupt their employers. Journos lose jobs because most of them are partisan hacks and no one wants their crap anymore…
— Gold N. Rules (@jamesbranch3) October 22, 2018
Coal miners aren't crapping in their product.
— Jim (@Ifitsthisname) October 23, 2018
Gross, we would hope not.
What a shame.
— Democrat Strategist (@JammieWF) October 22, 2018
It's a dead industry guys, those jobs aren't coming back. Stop being backwards hicks and embrace the new world. ?
— Crazee™ the 13th ? (@Crazizzle) October 23, 2018
Yeah, guys.
So, coal mining in your future then? I wish you well.
— Richard Vincent (@BigRMV) October 22, 2018
You're saying this is a bad thing??
Learn to mine coal.— Billy Joe Remarkable looks on in disbelief (@Harry_Bergeron) October 23, 2018
No shame in it.
Treat them like the coal miners they despise. Tell them to go to job training and switch careers. Why are they any more special than blue collar salt-of-the-earth workers?
— Andy Faulconer (@Andy_Faulconer) October 22, 2018
If they were looking for sympathy this was a HUGE fail.
Huge.
