Watching anyone who lives in a country where their police actually arrest people for things they post in social media trying to explain to others what free speech means is hilarious, and not in a good way.
Especially when we’ve seen the Merseyside Police threaten to take action about tweets supporting poor Alfie Evan’s parents.
But J.K. Rowling had to try …
You're free to offend. The rest of us are free to say we're offended. That's what freedom of speech means. pic.twitter.com/Zh9UMbQ7yw

Being offended is fine, getting arrested because you offended someone else is the opposite of free speech.
Just sayin’.
Your police jail people for flipping a camera the bird.

If they started arresting people in this country for flipping the bird this editor would personally be serving a life-long sentence.
Ha!
Hey, you have your hobbies, this editor has hers.

And they wonder why we revolted.
unless, of course, you complain about a house of horrors taking a baby from his parents and tortuously murdering him before their eyes. if you say anything but "Thank you, your Majesty" the @MetPoliceEvents will hunt you down and put you in prison

But Trump!
You know what, that almost works here, we’ll leave it.
Hi…you have no free speech pic.twitter.com/0CdkcaJSP5

Any country protecting the feelings of its people is one that stifles debate and quashes freedom. And you should truly be both appalled and offended by the rampant antisemitism of your country, not to mention its failure toward protecting children and parental rights. #RIPAlfie

Orly? Care to explain @CountDankulaTV being arrested for a joke video and the following two pictures, then? pic.twitter.com/YDSaDv5nDp

Oops.
Don't you like in the UK? There is no free speech there…not if you can be jailed for a Facebook post someone else finds "offensive" or you are threatened with PRISON for using language unapproved by the state… pic.twitter.com/w0FFqamHbP
— Harry Gato (@harrygato) April 28, 2018
Oops again.
Aren’t people being arrested and sent to jail and fined for things they say there? I’m pretty 100% certain that’s what’s happening
— Séamus Bacus ? (@YourLocalJacob) April 28, 2018
Oops oops oops.
You just had a guy arrested for a YouTube joke and another for flipping off a camera. FOH with that. You ain’t free.

Except Freedom of Speech isn’t protected in the UK by a Constitution like it is in the United States. You’re free to get fined & jailed for offending someone.
— Closet News Junkie (@NewsCloset) April 28, 2018
So in other words, they don’t really have freedom of speech.
You aren't free to offend in the UK though. You can face fines for offensive jokes or jail for mean tweets. The UK does not have free speech and hasn't for awhile.
