As Twitchy readers know, it all started here with Matthew Dowd picking a fight with Dana Loesch and the NRA.
Fact: The @NRA and @DLoesch do not speak for the vast majority of Americans nor for the majority of us gun owners. They speak only for a segment of the GOP which is afraid of their fictional power.

Why Dowd chose to pick a fight with these two powerhouses we have no idea, but it didn’t go especially well for him. In fact, Dana Loesch quickly proved to Dowd why you never, EVER bring a knife to a gunfight.
Then later in the day, NRATV tweeted this:
“We will continue to defend the truth and protect freedom, whenever an opportunist like @matthewjdowd spreads lies against us. Lies against the millions of Americans the #NRA proudly stands with.” –@Stinchfield1776 pic.twitter.com/GjnxnuQek1

And as you can likely imagine, Dowd did not accept this challenge.
It’s far easier to sit on Twitter and pretend you’ve taken the high road by being smug and sanctimonious blathering on about things you clearly know nothing about and making up all sorts of fun stats that you never once back up with an actual source than it is to put up or shut up in a real debate.
You can tell he was super proud of himself:
I wear it as a badge of honor that @DLoesch and the @NRA has been attacking me, a gun owner for over 30 years who the NRA doesn’t represent, all day because i am for common sense gun laws.

But there was a problem with this tweet as well? Dana attacked him? REALLY?
I’ve literally only ever responded to you a couple times after you Tweet me nastiness non-stop. Calm down. https://t.co/Zps8RgFFJA

Of course, this isn’t the first time Dowd has gone after a woman he disagreed with, remember when he bullied Mary Katharine Ham, the young widowed mother of two? Because we do. (WOW: Dowd’s post-2016 Election apology comes back to haunt him after attacking Mary Katharine Ham)
Hrm.
He has to name drop, attack NRA, Christianity, or anything else on the right to get clicks. Otherwise…..yaaaaaawn.

His schtick is tired. "I'm this, but they don't represent me"

That seems like a "Look at me! Look at me!" tweet. Sees a strong, intelligent and successful woman as a target for his pathetic outburst.

Sorry I missed this. He blocked me after calling him out for comparing himself to Nancy Pelosi for his Catholic pro-choice-ness.
— Drew Matich (@drewmatich) January 11, 2018
Aww yes, his SUPER Catholic stance of being pro-choice … *eye roll*
And now this morning he’s back to tweeting Bible verses so he can continue to play his Cafeteria Catholicism game:
Thoughtful Thursday to you. Mark: “A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said,
"If you wish, you can make me clean."
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper”. Let us help heal the world, and our country by reaching out, touching others.— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) January 11, 2018
What a piece of work.
