Matthew Yglesias recently took to Twitter, and while he was trying to be snarky, he said some very important things. Then he promptly limited who could reply and threatened to block anyone who quote-tweeted him.
You guys win. It's all deleted. Florida's rapid population is 100 percent due to public policy choices and has nothing to do with weather or coastline. Indiana and Iowa should just copy the DeSantis playbook and get the same results.

Here he is, daring tweeps to try for the block.
Please QT this tweet or its predecessor if you would like to be blocked.

When this article was written, there were over 400 quote tweets of his original assertion. Translation: Twitter wants to be your Huckleberry, Matty. Even the secondary tweet has been quote tweeted nearly 400 times as of right now. Poor Matty’s block button has been getting a workout!
Now back to the context of the tweet. He states that Florida’s recent population explosion has to do with weather and coastline. Sorry, Matty, that may be part of it, but it can’t be the only reason.
Prior to the DeSantis administration, the last time Florida led the nation in population growth was 1957! The weather and coastline aren’t new Matty. https://t.co/oGHggFGhI1 https://t.co/C4YEU7jdQd

Tweeps have receipts, lots and lots of receipts.
You mean global warming severe hurricanes and coastal lands receding due to global warming isn't keeping folks away?!?!
And California weather is worse than Florida weather?!?!
Me thinks your narratives aren't holding up. https://t.co/KjrFZaZGvq— TexasAF (@DillowTalk2) May 22, 2023
It’s like he forgot about all the people in deep blue states locked down hard for COVID, getting mad and telling everyone they were leaving.
Cali's got the weather and coastline and people are fleeing it as fast as they can pack. It clearly is the public policy choices that make them different. If you don't like that, it's fine, but if you're incapable of understanding why that's true, you have a really low-IQ take. https://t.co/1TP37b2r0H

More proof Matthew here is confused.
We aren’t even sure he knows what he’s saying. It’s been a lot of fun reading all the quote tweets though. Here’s our suggestion for Mr. Yglesias: Take a deep breath and relax, bro. It’s going to be ok, we promise.
