Antonio Margarito, properly nicknamed the “Tijuana Tornado” for his lightning quick fighting style, announced his retirement on Thursday at the age of 34.
The fighter won three welterweight world titles, but will likely be more infamously remembered for his plastered hand wraps scandal before his fight with Shane Mosley in 2009.
Margarito: "If I cannot compete at 100% in the ring, I don't want to go back. It's time for me to retire." @TonyMarg
