President Obama headed out to Staten Island today to assess the alleged progress being made in areas ravaged by Hurricane Sandy. Huh. If had only taken his laser-like focus off of himself for one moment, he would have seen what everyone else has known for weeks: Sandy-ravaged areas are suffering and FEMA is failing.
Giuliani: FEMA response to Sandy "abysmal". FEMA was pleased, saying that's the closest they've ever gotten to getting an "A". #tcot

@EPAgov @fema o so that's what FEMA has been doing: worrying about environment instead of people. Time 2 abolish BOTH #sandy #statenisland

Has Obama fixed the Sandy damage yet? Last I heard the people on Staten Island are being treated worse than those from Katrina.

It's almost redundant at this point to note how badly Bush would be getting savaged if the mess of Sandy had happened on his watch.
— Dan McLaughlin (@baseballcrank) November 14, 2012
Of course, members of the media are far too busy swooning madly over President Obama to, you know, hold him accountable. In fact, they cover for him and the FEMA failures.
Pop Quiz: Everyone knew Bush's head of FEMA following Katrina. The media made sure you knew "Brownie" fell down on the job.

But can you name Obama's head of FEMA?
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) November 14, 2012
No, you probably can't. Because the media hasn't mentioned his name six thousand times.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) November 14, 2012
@aceofspadeshq I googled "Current FEMA director" 2 weeks ago and the first 12 hits were stories about Brown. Some from the time of Katrina.

Obama to make NY HUD boss "point man" liason between FEMA and POTUS. No favoritism or cronyism could possibly happen here.
