'How Wonderful... We Never Anticipated This': CNN Stunned by Southern Hospitality During World Cup

I know these people rarely leave their coastal bubbles, but the sneering contempt they show toward Southerners and everyday Americans is genuinely unhinged. They talk about them like uncultured swine who can barely manage opposable thumbs. They desperately need to get out more and touch grass — preferably somewhere south of Virginia.

I continue to find the parochialism of the US left hilarious.

They genuinely thought that foreigners hate the US as much as the US left does, and they are both disoriented and angry to discover that that isn’t the case. https://t.co/kVna7XAoUB

If World Cup visitors came with any preconceptions or dislike for the Southern United States, it wasn’t because of personal experience, it was because they believed what much of the American media had been telling them for years.

 Now, they know better.

have these people never been to the american south in their lives, inhospitable? are you serious https://t.co/DmjaKtc5IK

People in the South are loving and hospitable. They are often also Christians and Republicans and that's what the Corporate Media can't stand.

You would not have anticipated the South being welcoming? Isn't the South stereotypically welcoming? That we wave, smile, say hello, are friendly to visitors who come in good faith? New Yorkers talk about how different it is up there. https://t.co/1wSWLJqBda

Hard-working people who keep to themselves, attend church, mind their own business, and quietly raise good families aren’t dumb or 'backwoods.' They’re the backbone of this country.

Freddy doing the lord's work in making CNN embarrass themselves by saying they never expected the South to be hospitable to tourists.

“But how wonderful again, that sports can bring people here and show people that the United States and you know, the South is welcoming a German tourist in a way we would never have anticipated"

lololololololol

I LOATHE these people with the blaze of 1,000 suns https://t.co/5EAYNuzBUX

They really are terrible people. They claim to 'inform the public', but how can they properly do that when they don't even know their audience and they most certainly loathe them.

The BEST part of this clip is the end, "how wonderful, again, that sports can bring us together and show people people that the United States, and the South is welcoming a German tourist in a way we never would have anticipated." Like, what the actual heck? https://t.co/dyVWypQDWB

Clearly, CNN and their contributors don't think much of their fellow Americans. Hopefully, the rumor Bari Weiss might be taking over will come to fruition. Then, she needs to hire journalists who like their fellow citizens. Start with Salena Zito, for example.
