Even after all of the horrific stories about Graham Platner were told, it didn't change the minds of the voters in Maine one iota. That really did not shock me. I knew he would win big last night.
To be fair, Mills had dropped out but her name was still on the ballot. The people of Maine have clearly decided Platner is one of their own and they are going to stand beside him, come what may.
I believe (I have no verification, just a gut feeling) there is way more to come. I think John Fetterman also believes this and that is why he keeps taunting Platner to release the conversations he had with other women (while married). I honestly don't think it will matter. I assume there will be some revealing photos, pictures of Platner in ways no one wants to see the old Graham Cracker. I think the people of Maine will call it PTSD or dealing with addiction issues and call it a day.
By the way, he is often seen drinking alcohol, so I'm not sure about his claim he is actively working on his recovery. There is such a thing called 'California Sober'. It's when someone stops drinking and hard drugs, but can still smoke weed. Maybe 'Maine Sober' is you can be in recovery and still drink beer.

Anyway, here's his mugshot from his DUI.
Obviously, he was on a messaging site predators often used to contact young girls. I'm disgusted to say I don't even think that would matter to his voters. They'd blame it on Susan Collins for sending him to war as if hundreds of thousands of other soldiers didn't also go to war and don't come home and get on messaging apps with sketchy reputations.
Also, Platner kept volunteering. Finally, the Marines wouldn't let him back in so he went to the Army Reserves. For a dude that claims war messed him up, he couldn't get enough of it.

Also, that is another of Platner's recent lies. There are texts proving he very much knew Lyndsey and expressed his deep love for her. He says he barely knew her. He's too much.
Admittedly, I'm worried. He's a fast talker. He's able to persuade women to do what he wants. Look at all the women who can't wait to stick up for him. His wife is his human shield. He sent her out to do his dirty work when he humiliated himself. Most of his ride or die advocates on X are women.
Susan Collins is much more methodical, she's not a person who moves you emotionally with soaring rhetoric and she is getting older (aren't we all). I'm concerned how they will look next to one another on a debate stage. I'm with the NRSC. We underestimate Platner at our own peril.

I'm told Collins has a political machine in Maine and they will get to work and get this done. I hope so. It always stinks to lose an election, but to lose to a guy like this would be really disheartening.
I really hope Maine comes out of their alternate reality and remembers there are some things that matter other than proving your loyalty to Graham Platner.
