If You Loved Charlie Kirk, Prove It—Give His Grieving Family Privacy and Dignity

  1. In a just and sane world, Erika Kirk would be able to grieve her husband privately and celebrate his life publicly when she felt up to it. She would be allowed to pick up the mantle of his organization and ensure his message continues to inspire young conservatives for years to come. She would be able to turn on the news or listen to a podcast and not hear the most bizarre commentary imaginable regarding the reasons for his murder. She would not have to worry about her kids going online one day when they are much older and seeing all sorts of vile conspiracy theories about their father's untimely demise.

Unfortunately, that's not her reality and it isn't even coming from the Left. Yes, the Left is doing what it does and behaving in a cruel manner when it comes to Charlie's assassination, but Erika probably expected that and was used to it. She is Charlie's wife, after all. What is more likely shocking to her system is the cruelty of right leaning commentators, people who claim to have loved Charlie.

Anyone who claims to have loved or respected Charlie putting his widow through this truly did not love him. If they did, they would never subject the mother of his children to this. He would hate what is being done to her. There is nothing righteous about this witch hunt to find Charlie's 'real killer'.

People are really making money off harassing the woman he devoted his life to. Charlie Kirk would have no part of that and at the very least, out of respect for his memory, people should not support this kind of content. His wife hasn't asked people to investigate this, nor have his parents. Those are the people who lost the most. They are the people most affected by his loss. All of these conspiracy theories and rabbit holes are hurting them the most.

If people want to honor Charlie's memory, go home and love your family. Be a good husband and father. Be a nurturing wife and mother. Donate your time, talent and treasure to your church. Help good conservatives get elected. Those are things Charlie would cheer.

Finally, allow his family to have a place to grieve him free from public spectacle. Give them a shred of dignity and privacy. They deserve that. Charlie laid down his life for the conservative movement and preaching the importance of faith and family. We owe his family the right to grieve him with dignity.
