Really? This is the spin the left is going to put on the VA-7 primary? House majority leader Eric Cantor lost his primary because Republicans don’t like Jews?
Whoa! Republican Jewish caucus obliterated! “@HuffPostPol: BREAKING: Eric Cantor defeated by tea party challenger http://t.co/OdGK3jHsa3”
— Gavi Begtrup (@GaviBegtrup) June 11, 2014
As expected, circus clown and pseudo-candidate Mike Dickinson was all over the notion. Probably kicking himself for not thinking of it first.

But the idea was echoed by a lot of other people who may not be complete buffoons.

So the only Jewish Republican in Congress (either house) is about to lose his primary?
— David S. Bernstein (@dbernstein) June 10, 2014
Heh, good work @rjchq RT @dbernstein: So the only Jewish Republican in Congress (either house) is about to lose his primary?
— John Tackeff (@jtackeff) June 10, 2014
Eric Cantor was the Speaker-apparent, the first Jewish Speaker of the House. This is simply amazing
— (((JonathanWeisman))) (@jonathanweisman) June 11, 2014
It can't be undersold that Eric Cantor was the last Jewish Congressional Republican.
— Ben Erickson (@eric1743) June 11, 2014
Eric Cantor was the only Jewish Republican in Congress.
— Asher Huey (@asherhuey) June 11, 2014
Oy. There goes the entire GOP House Jewish Caucus. MT "@ShaneGoldmacher: @GOPLeader Cantor Defeated: http://t.co/U0BOLhS1dv"
— Sherry Greenberg (@SherryGreenberg) June 11, 2014
Also tonight, GOP Jewish caucus basically shattered. Or decimated ten times over.
— Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) June 11, 2014
The real news here is that the House Republican Jewish caucus has just lost 100% of its membership #VA07 #Cantor
— Abigail Collazo (@LeftStandingUp) June 11, 2014
Some sane voices stepped in.
"I'll take Issues 0% of Voters Noticed for $500, Alex." MT @dbernstein: The only Jewish Republican in Congress is about to lose his primary?
— Sarah Rumpf (@rumpfshaker) June 10, 2014
@Redistrict his religion was never an issue before – why now?
— Lewis P. (@_Sweet_Lew) June 10, 2014
@redistrict Live in district. Never heard religion mentioned as issue. Cantor has just seemed increasingly remote, just another career pol.
— Tom Hamilton (@TomLglEdtr) June 11, 2014
@Redistrict as a jew who leans right I would not have voted for Cantor because of amnesty. Stop spreading false narratives
— kev H (@Heshel86) June 11, 2014
@Redistrict Did he JUST become Jewish? That's careless speculation.
— SowellGlo (@SowellGlo) June 10, 2014
.@Redistrict That's silly, he was Jewish when they voted FOR him a bunch of times, too.
— (((DCCyclone))) (@DCCyclone) June 10, 2014
MSM Headline: "Anti-Semitic Tea Party Ousts GOP Leader" RT @matthewstoller Eric Cantor is only Jewish member of GOP House caucus.
— Robert A George (@RobGeorge) June 10, 2014
Probably a lot of truth to that prediction. Sad.
