Noted gun policy expert Chris Rock hit Capitol Hill today with fellow celebri-tools Tony Bennett and Amanda Peet to “Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence.”

At a press conference with Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Law Center to Prevent Violence, Rock explained his enlightened and informed stance on gun control without mentioning … guns. Sadly, it wasn’t a comedy routine:
I’m just here to support the president of the United States. The president of the United States is, you know, our boss. But he’s also, you know, the president and the first lady are kind of like the mom and the dad of the country. And when your dad says something, you listen. And when you don’t, it usually bites you in the ass later on. So, I’m here to support the president.
Whatever you say, Big Daddy Government! Unless the president has an (R) after his name.
BZZZZT! Wrong! "@slone: OMFG! Chris Rock: Obama is…the President & 1st Lady are kinda like the Mom and the Dad of the country." #tgdn

Man, that idiot @ChrisRock is an ignorant Obama Kool Aid drinker. He thinks that the President is "our boss".

@chrisrock You obviously need a civics lesson. The President of the United States is employed by We The People. He is not the boss…WE are.

"the President and the First Lady are kinda like the Mom and the Dad of the country" Chris Rock…. Give me a break, dumb guy.

@chrisrock says the President is "our boss." This is what's wrong with our society. This has dangerous implications.

Chris Rock's statement that Pres is our boss is precisely what is wrong. Left believes WE work for the gov't.. they have it backwards. #tcot
